MISHA
Misha Revisited:
Here’s a bunch of
nostalgia, songs sung long long ago. We listen and shed a tear for younger, more
innocent, less battle-scarred selves.
Sniff. They are, also, totally
not electronica.
For better and for worse. We hope you do take a gander, and remember to
follow the link to the MishaClassic, where we have even
more music. The dim-ones we only expect
you to listen to if you’re got a penchant for pain.
anaconda – a
perennial favourite, a bit bossa,
a bit Casio, a bit kooky.
bossa
– a proper tribute to Caetano Veloso,
Brasilian style. Just voice and
guitar.
cancer
– this is a dark song, in a really rough recording. It’s cool, you can hear the mic hit.
dark – this piano-ballad
perked the ear of a couple of major labels, due to a chemical imbalance, we didn’t
bite.
feverpitch – what fevers feel
like to us, it’s an instrumental.
hantch – we have no idea, but
it’s like we’re little munchkins all over again.
limchin
– so this one is a little sampled, we
won’t say who so we don’t get sued, but it’s a famous saxophonist.
blue louisiana
– a hot day in the swamps of
martyr – we are so sad
and pathetic, well, the guys anyway, the girls do just fine.
missing you –
someone went apeshit with the production, it’s a
little Jon Brion, a lot George Martin and Froom.
odessa
– I don’t believe in love, that’s the first line, another moper. Mope.
pregeorgia
– country runs in our blood. Some of our blood.
Others of us laugh.
punk – it’s not really
punk, it’s more like new-wave with guitars.
Catchy though.
simon – we play like Gordon
Lightfoot or something. Yeah, it’s folky.
sugar sugar sugar
– subway song, kind of slow and sad and with weird film samples and
echoes. Another rough
demo-esque.
turn – another song
inspired by pie. Kind
of folky, guitary.
undertow
– somehow it went from Chopin to this weird guitar voice song that’s basically
from the 70’s.
waterbaby
– what it’s like to be loping about on a
porch during on of those halcyon days.
This is instrumental.
